Location
| Bridge
Camp is ideally placed for travelers as a stop-over point between Malawi, South Luangwa
National Park and Lusaka, Victoria
Falls. |
|
|
|
The
Lodge itself is situated in the hills overlooking the Luangwa River, 230 kms
from Lusaka on the Great East Road.
Coming from Lusaka, just before the Luangwa Bridge, turn right for
3km onto Feira Road (good dirt road immediately after roadside
market - Bridge Camp is signposted at turn-off
to Luangwa). Driving time from
Lusaka is 2.5 hours, on a very good,
rebuilt section of the Great East Road.
Coming from Chipata, about 1.5 kms after
crossing the bridge over the river, turn left for 3km
onto Feira
Road. |

Accommodation
Chalets
There are ten
stone and thatch secluded chalets (some en-suite and some with shared ablutions
comprising flush toilets with hot and cold showers)
all built on a hill overlooking the Luangwa River. We have
family, double and twin chalets. (A cot can also be provided in the
family chalets.)
|
|
All
chalets are fully mosquito gauzed.
Lighting
is by generator to 22h00, thereafter by solar lighting inside the chalets. |
|
Camping
|
|
We
have two campsites: one smaller one on the main lodge site and another large one
just 200 metres along the dirt road.
Both
are sited on grass under shade-giving trees with camp fire, sinks and braai facilities.
The
ablution blocks comprise flush toilets and hot and cold showers. |
|
| Main Lodge
The bar and large
pool at the lodge on the hill are open to all guests
staying at Bridge Camp and
full meals may be ordered from the kitchen.
Dinner must be
ordered in advance and all meals are served in the
dining area at the main building. |
|
| Coffee
and after dinner drinks may be enjoyed in African
style around our campfire.
Or simply relax
with a drink on our viewing deck overlooking the
Luangwa river. |
